INTRODUCTION: ANXIETY DEFINED

WHAT IS ANXIETY?

There are different definitions of what anxiety is. If you have anxiety, you will know it. Here is a technical definition though: Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about something with an uncertain outcome. Anxiety can also keep individuals up at night because they internalizing multiple satiations in their head, or anxiety can cause individuals to be distracted during the day because they are internalizing/thinking about other things to the extent that daily activities are impeded.

WHAT ARE THE MOST HELPFUL TIPS TO REDUCE ANXIETY?

ANXIETY!!!

The most helpful tips are mindfulness and deep breathing exercises. Mindfulness involves focusing on the present moment and on your emotions and physical sensations. Deep breathing exercises can help to relax your body and mind, and can be done anywhere.

WHO SUFFERS FROM ANXIETY?

   Anxiety disorders can affect anyone regardless of age, gender and ethnicity. However, certain factors can increase your risk of developing an anxiety disorder. These factors include a family history of anxiety, major life changes, physical or emotional trauma, and substance abuse.  Another risk factor is existing mental health conditions. If you’ve been diagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder or another mental health disorder, you may be more likely to develop an anxiety disorder. 

   Anxiety can take many forms and as stated preciously anyone can suffer from anxiety. If you suffer from anxiety, please do not feel bad or alone.
